'Hybrid' thing at Lower Moors

First impressions look good for a Scaup

A aythia 'hybrid' thing turned up on the tiny scrape at Lower Moors. Understandably on first views, it was thought to be a Scaup. Yesterday, at the latter site in the warm sunshine, I got 2 Firecrest and 2 Grey Wagtail near to the Shooters Pool. Before this, a brief  at Porth Hellick, the vocal Siberian Chiffchaff was in the same Sallows as 4 Firecrest, but only a single Yellow-browed Warbler could be found. The Yellow-browed Warbler was still at Holy vale with 2 Firecrest and 4 Woodcock were in the area. There were only 25 Chaffinch at Watermill, but with them were 2 Brambling. Nearby in the cove was a single Whimbrel and at Porthcressa there were 5 Black Redstart. There has been no sight or sound of the Cetti's Warbler at Porth Hellick since it was released after being ringed two weeks ago. However, while sitting in the Sussex hide, I heard a male give a loud short burst to the left of the hide three days ago. The only other news is that the Pink-footed Goose has been observed coming into roost at Porth Hellick

If it wasn't for Martin being in the hide when I arrived, I would of easily overlooked the duck.

The tiny scrape was to shallow for it to dive

2 Snipe were also on the scrape

This immature Grey Heron seems to have a right broken leg

While this adult Grey Heron was at Watermill

This Whimbrel was nearby a longs ways off

2 male Siskin were at Higher Moors

Blackbird

Chiffchaff

The Siberian Chiffchaff at Porth Hellick was feeding in the sun at the top of the Sallows

The one and only Tom Petty!
